Cairns

Kuranda

This world famous tourist destination, known as the “village in the rainforest”, has numerous attractions including a butterfly sanctuary, colourful bird aviary, koala park and a thriving market community. The local area is fringed with fascinating rainforest walking tracks and provides an easy access to the picturesque Tablelands area.

The Tablelands (Cairns Highlands)

The Tablelands (easy accessed from Cairns and Kuranda by car or coach tour), a region comprised of several townships, including Atherton, Mareeba, Malanda, Yungaburra, are set in the mountains (average of 700 metres above sea level ) to the west of Cairns. The area is dominated by rainforest and pastoral lands, and boasts many natural attractions, including waterfalls, scenic look-outs, walking & hiking tracks and cool swimming holes.
